Family To Family, an
Annie E. Casey Foundation funded initiative, was designed in 1992 to
meet the challenges of the nation’s child welfare system. Since then
it has been field tested in communities across the country prior to
being launched in Monterey County in January, 2003. F2F is a whole
new approach in foster care that involves the family and community
members in making placement decisions, aspires to find and maintain
foster and kinship families who can support children and families in
their own neighborhoods, and invests in the capacity of communities
to build support to keep families together or bring them back
together. |
